Frequently Asked Questions

Is your fish wild-caught or farm-raised?

Most of our fish are wild species, Atlantic salmon, rainbow trout and farmed catfish. Would you like to eat wild fish? You may want to try our Ocean Wild Mix or CTS Patience Pack, one of the Paleo tables, or order the coho salmon, Greyareia seafood and other wild species we offer. Some people want to avoid farmed fish and we farm it entirely. Others have heard of mixed farmed fish and I hope we can give them some inside information on the subject.

Greyareia’s management team consists of five people and we have dedicated our professional career to the fishing sector (over 120 years if you add them up). We all “grew up” in the wild fish trade and over time developed a working knowledge of aquaculture. The truth is that farmed fish vary greatly in appearance and quality, and whether you eat farmed or farmed fish, you will find “good fish, good fish and bad fish.” This means that today the best quality fish taste good, are raised, caught and treated appropriately, while the poorest fish are often what you would expect: poorly cared for, often with added water and generally cheaper. what you can buy.

If you care about environmental responsibility and not us, think about the state of our people when it comes to the global food supply. Now almost all plants and animals worship the earth. Our seven billion people would literally starve to death if it were not for global agricultural and livestock production. A recent article published in Nation Geographic about the states of man states that if men started hunting any animal, they would eat all the beasts on earth in a matter of weeks. Let’s think about this point: almost all the food eaten on earth comes from agricultural products, not wild products, because it makes environmental sense.

Today, we produce about half of the fish products consumed worldwide. Aquaculture was developed in part to prevent the last fish from being measured. This is a healthy and tasty way to increase the fish’s nerves and reduce the pressure of the overexploited resources. We can also confirm that today the majority of health food stores buy fish from farmers who use no antibiotics, agrochemicals, pesticides and are truly environmentally friendly. The standards of production have been continuously developed and refined in order to have a positive historical and social impact on agriculture.

So if you look at the best health food vendors/stores or the best fishermen (like Greyareia), you will find the best processed fish on the market, both wild and farmed. When you shop at larger supermarket chains or cheaper markets, you get what you pay for. Like Fish Boy, we see the differences between the two combinations widening over time.

Our mission at Greyareia is to offer direct delivery of top quality fish and seafood. We offer this both to health & fitness-seekers, so that they get the benefits of omega 3 fats in the form of healthy, pure, delicious fish servings, and also to folks who just love great seafood! We hope we are making it easy, by offering both variety packs as well as individual types of seafood, for you to eat and enjoy a variety of fish and get the USDA recommendation of a minimum of 2 servings of fish per week.

Why is your fish shipped frozen instead of fresh?

There is nothing better than the taste of fish and shellfish fresh from the water. If you are lucky enough to catch fish yourself and enjoy cooking and eating your catch, or if you live near fishing communities and can buy fresh fish off the raft, then you know what we are talking about. But after a few days the fish is caught and the fish begins to lose its freshness; The bacteria begin to do their work and the taste gradually changes after a week. After two weeks, almost all frozen “fresh fish” are inedible. Fortunately, frozen fish (using a special technique that freezes the fish meat within minutes) stops the decomposition process within two days (or in some cases within a few hours). This fish is stored well frozen in a very fresh state, you can refreeze and cook it for up to a month if you want to use the fish tasting right out of the water.

Once all the fish have been harvested and fed, they are usually transferred first to a hub or distribution center and then to warehouses where they are sold to wholesalers. Each step of this distribution process typically takes days rather than hours. That’s why the “new” fish you see at your local big box store is usually 1) eight years old or older or 2) previously frozen. (Pre-frozen fish as such, but in practice this is not always the case. Ask before you buy. This is where Greyareia comes in. We are in the transshipment and processing business, many of which are high-end natural sellers who are our customers – and just like you, our fish is a type of fish with the best fresh flavor, which is frozen as soon as possible after processing. In this case, the inhabitants of the fish trap tell the truth: ours It’s frozen It’s usually sweeter with fresh fish, that’s how we feed our families and once we were.

Does Your Fish Contain Bones?

We do our best to remove bones from all species of fish on our site. However, some fish may contain small bones, which are eaten.
