Frozen turbot

Turbot is known as ‘The King of the Sea’ – a title well deserved if you have ever enjoyed the delicious, firm and rich meaty flavours that this fish offers. It is also very good for you – high in protein, low in fat (apart from the healthy ones), and rich in essential vitamins and minerals. It is not landed in huge quantities and these large prized fish can fetch prices on the markets high enough to make your eyes water. We tend to source ours from the smaller day boats landing into Newlyn and Plymouth. We recommend it as an occasional treat to be savoured, and it is also a really versatile fish that lends itself well to being cooked whole on the bone or in tranches. Here at Fish For Thought we sell a range of Turbot products from fillets to whole fish. Each of our Turbot products are sourced ethically from markets in Plymouth and Newlyn daily. We will do our very best to deliver fresh turbot fish, however this may not always be available, in which case we will offer a hand prepared fast-frozen alternative.
